Supported by Founding Partner Wesfarmers, the Foundation for the WA Museum presents Katherine Bennell-Pegg as the 2024 Ngalang Koort (Our heart) Conversations speaker. Katherine will be in conversation with Sinead Mangan, to explore why space matters to Australia and why Australia needs to play an active role in space exploration, on 28 August, 2024.

As a Founding Partner of the Foundation for the WA Museum, Wesfarmers supports the Ngalang Koort Conversations series featuring acclaimed speakers, aimed at engaging the Western Australian community in conversations with world leading thinkers on topics of global interest and significance. The series delivers conversations with high-profile guests, exploring topics that impact all of humanity alongside vital local relevance.

The Conversation series is focused on five broad themes - humanity, truth, enterprise, challenge and justice – and allows for a wide range of critical conversation topics.

Coralie Bishop, CEO of the Foundation for the WA Museum, commented “Exchanging ideas, sharing wisdom and discovering new insights are at the heart of the human connection we call conversation. Thanks to Wesfarmers, the Ngalang Koort Conversations series is able to present some of the world’s most insightful people to discuss our existence, our futures and to highlight topics central to a Western Australia bustling with opportunity, wisdom and positivity. The WA Museum is the ideal space to share these compelling conversations and connections.”

Katherine will be in conversation with ABC journalist Sinead Mangan. The conversation, followed by a Q&A session, will be held at Hackett Hall, WA Museum Boola Bardip. Tickets are available through WA Museum from Thursday, 25 July, 10am.

As part of Ngalang Koort Conversations, Katherine will appear in the "To the Moon" exhibition at Boola Bardip, in a special, family-friendly "Ask an Astronaut" event on Saturday 31 August.
