Philanthropist and businessman Tim Ungar has joined the Board of the Foundation for the WA Museum, continuing his long-standing association with the Foundation for the WA Museum and the Western Australian Museum.
Tim Ungar is currently the Chairman of TSA Group, a national sales, marketing and operations company headquartered in Western Australia. He has an extensive background as a senior executive in the telecommunications and technology industries in the areas of infrastructure, manufacturing, marketing and operations.
Tim has a longstanding involvement in the culture and arts sector in Western Australia, has chaired a number of organisations and was the Western Australian Museum’s Chair of the Board of Trustees between 2004 and 2011. He is also Director of the charitable trust, the Ungar Family Foundation.
“My connection to the then ‘Western Australian Museum Foundation’ reaches as far back as 1999. Ever since I retired from the Western Australian Museum’s Board of Trustees and from the Board of Governors of the Foundation in 2011, I have maintained close ties. I am deeply passionate about the WA Museum’s work as a cultural institution and contributor to scientific knowledge about our environment, which is closely aligned to my philanthropic focus areas”, commented Tim Ungar.
Foundation Chair Anna Shave said, “Few people are as highly respected for their philanthropic activities in Western Australia as Tim and his wife Christine. We are honoured that Tim is joining the Foundation for the WA Museum Board as a Director. With his extensive experience and outcome-focused approach, his contribution to shaping the Foundation’s strategy in support of the WA Museum will be invaluable.”
